Knobbe Martens Partner Eli Loots will be a panelist on Monday March, 2, 2015, at the 2015 CALBIO Conference: Turning Challenges into Opportunities. The panel is titled "The Evolving World of Biosimilars."

The panel will discuss:

• A general outline of the current state of the biosimilar landscape, discussing the various players and the varying approaches that are being taken for the various molecules being pursued.
• Various scientific/technical challenges in the space, including access to resources and common obstacles that can arise in pursuing a biosimilar program.
• The current level of guidance provided by the FDA for proceeding through the biosimilar pathway (including issues such as timelines, hurdles, naming, etc).
• Various legal challenges (availability of declaratory judgments, the BPCIA exchange, etc), as well as options for maintaining a competitive advantage in this space as new biosimilars follow the first biosimilar entrant.
