Knobbe Martens Ranked First In Patent Prosecution Nationally By Managing Intellectual Property Magazine
Knobbe Martens Olson & Bear LLP, one of the largest intellectual property law firms in the United States, has been recognized as one of the top law firms for intellectual property law, both nationally and in the West, by Euromoney's Managing Intellectual Property (MIP) magazine.
Recognized in the survey for its patent prosecution practice, Knobbe Martens ranked in the first tier out of six tiers in the category. According to MIP, firms listed in the first tier are regarded as having the strongest practice in their respective area.
Knobbe Martens also ranked at the top of the newly added "Bio Life Sciences" category. According to MIP, the addition of the new category reflects how clients in the burgeoning biotech and life sciences industry in the U.S. are increasingly demanding sophisticated, specialist advice from outside counsel with extensive industry-specific experience. Of the 211 lawyers in Knobbe Martens' offices around the country, the majority have advanced or multiple advanced degrees in an engineering discipline or within the physical or life sciences.
The survey results were compiled by teams of researchers based in London, New York and Hong Kong who spoke with hundreds of practitioners and in-house counsel to gather information about the patent law industry in 65 jurisdictions. Based on nominations submitted by nearly 4,000 IP practitioners worldwide, MIP garnered further in-depth feedback on the firms by contacting 700 industry specialists throughout the world, which was then used to rank the top IP law firms in each country and jurisdiction.
