Knobbe Martens Grows Despite Current Legal Downsizing Trend - 28 New Associates Added To Offices Nationwide
Knobbe Martens Olson & Bear, LLP, an Orange County, CA based law firm specializing in intellectual property, today announced the addition of 28 new associates in the firm’s Orange County, San Diego, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Seattle and Washington, D.C. offices. The addition of the new associates brings the total attorney count to over 260 firm-wide, up from 246 in fall of 2008.
“Despite the current state of the economy, the firm is pleased to continue to experience growth in our clients,” said Steven Nataupsky, the firm’s managing partner. “As many other firms are downsizing or postponing hiring new attorneys, we have continued to grow in response to an increasing demand for high quality intellectual property legal services at an affordable cost..” The new associates in the Orange County office include: James Abe, Dennis Cahillane, Ron Fernando, Dan Gibson, Alan Hale, Greg Hopewell, Laura Koppelman, Eric Lee, Euan Lockhart, Cindy Nguyen, Emily Sauter, Brian Sung, H. Jason Swartz and Laura Wine.
The San Diego office welcomes six new associates: Benjamin Anger, Richard Christiansen, William Evans, Brent Moore, Nicholas Transier and Jeff Tung.
The San Francisco office has five new associates joining the office: Aaron Davis, Eric Fong, Michael Ho, Madhavi Patankar and David Trossen.
Amanda Carmany-Rampey has joined the Seattle office which, recently moved to larger space to accommodate continued growth.
In addition, Laura Blau joined the firm’s Los Angeles office and Lincoln Essig joined the Washington, D.C. office. The firm has an acceptance rate at or above 90 percent each year by summer associates offered full-time positions.
The new associates come from prestigious law schools across the United States including Boston University, Duke University, George Washington University, Georgetown, New York University, University of California, Los Angeles and Berkeley. In addition to their law degrees, many hold advanced degrees including Ph.D. and M.D. degrees.
