Knobbe Martens Partners Joseph Mallon and Brent Dougal selected as panelists for IPO’s Annual PTO Day in Washington D.C.

On Tuesday, March 25, Knobbe Martens Olson & Bear LLP partners Joseph Mallon, Ph.D. and Brent Dougal will be speaking at the Intellectual Property Owners Association (IPO) Education Foundation’s PTO Day, the 24th Conference on USPTO Law and Practice, at the Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center in Washington D.C. The conference is being held in cooperation with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) and it will bring together industry experts, the private bar and high-ranking officials from the USPTO to discuss current developments.

Mallon will be speaking on a panel entitled, “Improving Patent Quality and After-Grant Reviews and Reducing Pendency,” and Dougal will be speaking in a breakout session on Design Patents. The conference also will feature a number of other distinguished attorneys, academics, patent officials, and industry leaders.

Mallon is a member of IPO’s U.S. Patent Office Practice Committee and co-author of the IPO white paper “Compact Prosecution 2.0.” Dougal is the Vice-Chair of IPO’s Design Rights Committee and he recently co-authored IPO’s “Comments on USPTO Proposed Rules: Changes to Implement the Hague Agreement Concerning International Registration of Industrial Designs.”
