Knobbe Martens Again Named a Top 10 Patent Litigation Firm by Corporate Counsel
Knobbe Martens Olson & Bear LLP, one of the leading intellectual property law firms in the United States, has again been recognized as one of the leading patent litigation firms in the country in Corporate Counsel’s annual “Patent Litigation Survey”. Knobbe Martens moved up one spot from last year to rank sixth in the magazine’s list of “Overall Busiest Firms.”
Firms were ranked based on the number of federal district court patent lawsuits handled in the prior year. To compile the list, Corporate Counsel asked law firms to identify all patent lawsuits they either filed on behalf of plaintiffs in federal district court in 2014 or were hired to defend.
Among Knobbe Martens’ most notable patent litigation cases of 2014 was its jury award of more than $466 million for longstanding firm client Masimo Corp. against Philips Electronics North America Corp. and Philips Medizin Systeme Boblingen GmbH. It was the largest intellectual property verdict of 2014 nationwide and was named “Patent Impact Case of the Year” by Legal Media Group (LMG) and ranked among the top five verdicts of 2014 in the National Law Journal’s “Top Verdicts of 2014.”
