Charlene Azema and Bita Kianian Named “Diverse Lawyers Making a Difference” by Profiles in Diversity Journal

IRVINE, CALIF., January 9, 2024 – Knobbe Martens is pleased to announce that partner Charlene Azema and associate Bita Kianian were recognized by Profiles in Diversity Journal as “Diverse Lawyers Making a Difference.”

According to Profiles in Diversity Journal, the eleven attorneys honored with this award are “prominent lawyers making a difference in diversity, inclusion, and equity within their law firms, and for their clients and communities.”

Charlene Azema counsels clients in domestic and international trademark and copyright portfolio management. She represents clients in several industries including cryptocurrency and blockchain, fashion and apparel, food and beverage, ad tech, entertainment, film and media, technology and electronic devices, construction, medical devices and services, consumer goods, and restaurant services, among many others. Ms. Azema is a regular speaker on IP issues.

Ms. Azema serves on the firm’s Diversity Committee and is a proponent of DEI initiatives both within and outside the firm.  In 2023, Ms. Azema was honored as a “Top 10 DEI Champion of Orange County” by the Orange County Coalition for Diversity in the Law (OCCDL).

Bita Kianian is a member of the firm’s trademark practice group and her practice focuses on trademark prosecution and enforcement, copyright, unfair competition and licensing. She advises clients in a diverse set of industries, including food and beverage, fashion and apparel, automotive, beauty, medical devices, real estate and finance, information technology, and telecommunications.

In 2023, Ms. Kianian was also named a “Top 10 Young Lawyer of OC” by the Orange County Coalition for Diversity in the Law (OCCDL).
