Sheila Swaroop Comments on PTAB Trends in Managing IP Article

In the article “Data dive: PTAB filings down year-on-year, but re-exam requests tick up,” partner Sheila Swaroop provided insight into recent data on US Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) trends.

Responding to the metric that re-examinations comprised only about a quarter of 2023 USPTO patent challenges, Swaroop, who chairs the firm’s litigation committee, commented on the potential difficulties of re-exams for challengers compared to other types of challenges, such as inter partes reviews (IPRs).
