Knobbe Martens Partner Salima Merani, Ph.D. Named to The Recorder’s “Women Leaders in Tech Law” List

For the third year, Dr. Merani was among 65 California lawyers selected. Honorees were selected by editors of The Recorder based on their recent accomplishments and their demonstrated ability to lead in major cases and deals within the tech industry.
Dr. Merani has been lead IP counsel in technology deals valued at well over a billion dollars in just the past three years and has been consistently ranked top in the industry for building global patent and trademark portfolios and negotiating high stakes deals for both US and international clients. She is considered one of the “go-to” tech lawyers in the life sciences field, representing both tech start-ups and tech venture capitalists in complex biotechnology and medtech deals. Tech entrepreneurs credit Dr. Merani’s unique combination of an undergraduate genetics degree, neuroscience Ph.D. and Berkeley law degree – and her proactive legal strategy – as a key factor in their companies’ growth and success.

Dr. Merani served as Vice Chair of an American Intellectual Property Law Association committee, including assignment to a special task force on new laws.
